Charles Petillon French, b. 1973
Charles Pétillon’s Séparation explores the tension between division and connection through a subtle yet powerful intervention. A cluster of white balloons emerges from a narrow gap between two imposing corrugated metal panels, as if attempting to bridge or break through the divide. The industrial, rigid nature of the structure contrasts with the organic softness of the balloons, evoking themes of confinement, movement, and transition. This installation invites reflection on the physical and emotional barriers that separate spaces, ideas, or individuals, while also suggesting the possibility of passage and transformation.
