Children playing are a recurrent feature in the
work of Abdul Rahman Katanani. The Palestinian artist is fascinated by
children’s ability to be oblivious of their surroundings and create their own
world. Cut out into a found oil barrel, the shadow projected behind the little
girl brings us back to reality, where overpowering forces form the backdrop of
our lives.
