"Polar
bear" is a small scale painting that reflects the artist's interest in
animals as symbolic figures. The polar bear, often associated with strength and
fragility within changing ecosystems, becomes a quiet protagonist within the
composition. The modest format reinforces the sense of intimacy between viewer
and subject, while the oil technique allows for nuanced textures and subtle tonal transitions. The painting functions as
a concentrated expression of the artist's broader thematic concerns.
