Maleonn Solo Show / Paris Photo 2015

2015年11月11日 - 11月15日

Maleonn's  photographs are like  tales  made  of  many  curiosities.  Combining  ancient  theater  costumes, surprising  and  edgy  props, theatrical stage, he takes us into a fable and tells us with poetry the story and culture of the chinese society. His univers is rich, in the same time complexe and playful, he reveals the many aspect of nowadays’ china, split between its traditions and its will to build the future. Considered as one of the most kept secret of the country in 2013, by the famous magazine Juxtapoz, he has since travelled across China,  with  his  Studio  Mobile, meeting  people  from  cities  to  towns.  Maleonn  is  exhibited  in  Shanghai,  Hong-Kong,  Madrid, Bruxelles,  Rome,  New-York,  Chicago or  Paris.  He  has received  many  awards  although  he  is  beforeall  the  symbol  of  a  whole generation.  His  photographs,  from  which  the  characters  appear  to  evolve  in  ideal  or  dreamlike  worlds,  are  true  emblems  for  the young chinese generation, and now international.

Magda  Danysz  Gallery  is  involved  into  promoting  the  contemporary  chinese  culture.  She  represents  Maleonn  since  2009  and shows here, for the first time, a retrospective of the artist, putting into the lights the richness of his body of work, with one thing in common : his recognizable and innovative style.
