    A SERIES AT THE CENTER OF OLAF'S ART

    在2020年夏天的一次慕尼黑之旅中，艺术家被邀请去城市附近的森林徒步旅行。从一个受流行病影响的嘈杂世界，来到这个安静、优美、似乎未受影响的自然环境当中，他发现两者之间的惊人对比。于是奥拉夫产生了创作这个系列的想法，自然的力量促成了其中平衡感的微妙改变。

     

    黑白两色的选择既是为了回忆他的摄影处女作，也是一种描写严酷而有威胁性的风景的方式。

    奥拉夫喜爱与艺术史对话。《林间》系列致敬的是19世纪的德国浪漫主义绘画，如卡斯帕·弗里德里希（Caspar Friedrich）的《雾海上的流浪者》。这幅著名画作描绘着一个站在岩石上俯瞰薄雾的年轻人。而在奥拉夫的作品中，这个男人的形象变得更为年长：艺术家用自己的形象取代了年轻的流浪者。这一次，自然高于一切。

  • 不同于奥拉夫以往热衷于参考过去的做法，《林间》和《愚人节》系列将故事设定在当下的世界。

  • 《愚人节》的概念来源于他在杂货店购物时的体验。当时他发现自己购物清单上的十件商品中有五件都脱销了。这让他困惑不已，因为他一直以为杂货店内总是永恒地存有一切所需事物。他从那一刻起便决定再次构建并表演出这个离奇的场面，所以在作品中他将自己化妆成了一个带着悲伤表情的小丑。
