    自21世纪初首次亮相以来，Vhils一直在对一长串物体和城墙的表面进行刮擦。他的作品的独创性从创作伊始便十分明显：不同于往媒介上添加东西，艺术家选择在其中雕刻，以揭示媒介更深的层次，而这个过程就像对城市进行考古。时间流逝的痕迹，集体历史的遗迹，Vhils的艺术作品以一种强有力的方式将围绕着我们、且构成我们环境的时间性带到人们的意识中。

    暂停时间

    根据他特有的考古学方法，Vhils现在正在探索一个全新的创作领域，艺术家将物品嵌入树脂，使得这些物品像是被冻结在时间中的化石。他说：”这种使物体结晶的新形式，是我捕捉日常生活片段的方式，将它们凝固为思考和新的诠释。从在某种意义上而言，这件作品是我暂停时间的一种尝试——为了更好的批判与解构现实。”鉴于我们今天所面临的全球问题，从全球变暖到资源匮乏，再到当前的疫情，对现实的解构和批判变得更为关键；艺术家称疫情期间为 “悬浮状态"。"这是一个非常重要的时刻，而这些变成化石的物体则反映了它的意义：我们的后代将如何理解这一段经历以及我们是如何应对我们时代的挑战的？"

    雕塑家、城市艺术家、跨学科艺术家......在所有适合他的修饰语中，Vhils最值得被称为一个肖像画家。他的作品是对国家宪法或政治口号所强调的”人民”，即任何社会和历史叙事的核心的人类的一种致敬。通过描绘无名氏，Vhils试图把人放回中心，重申人对经济的重要性。他的作品展现了一个深刻的人文主义愿景，在他的作品中，身份、社区和城市发展的概念一直相互牵绊，并提出新的问题。

  • Portuguese artist Vhils has been inspired for years by the never sleeping city of Shanghai. Video of his previous solo show "Realm" at Danysz gallery Shanghai, in 2019.

  • 亚历山大·法图，又名Vhils，于1987年出生于在葡萄牙。在21世纪初，他从里斯本开始，活跃于涂鸦艺术界。2008年，他被班克斯邀请参加伦敦的 “罐子节”，在该节日一经亮相，他的作品立即被誉为近年来城市艺术舞台上最具创新性的作品之一。现在，他经常在世界各地的主要机构举办展览，如巴黎蓬皮杜中心、北京的CAFA艺术博物馆，以及辛辛那提当代艺术中心，2020年他在美国的第一个专题展览就在那里举办。艺术家生活并工作于伦敦和里斯本之间。
