True legend of graffiti and urban art. Because he was one of the first graffiti artists in New York at the end of the 70s and especially the first to break with classic lettering ('Old School') to quickly assert himself as a master of abstraction. From the 1980s he went on tour with 'The Clash', painted on stage with them during concerts and became world famous.
Lenny Mc Gurr, better known under the name of Futura, met Magda Danysz when she started out in 1991. Since then, many projects have brought them together all over the world, from Paris to Shanghai to New York.
Magda Danysz is also the author of the largest monograph to date on the artist.
Made in 2010 on the occasion of one of his trips to Paris, this canvas is one of the artist's very large formats and combines both his iconic crane motif, with his pictorial experiments with pleated canvases à la Simon Hantai.
