Special series of ceramic tiles artworks (100x70cm) done on the occasion of the inauguration of the Vhils monumental public art commissioned for the Orly Airport metro station in Paris. The monumental commision, unveiled in June 2024, stands as a testament to the intricate relationship between urban spaces and their inhabitants.

For the Orly Airport station, designed by architects Bernard Baret and François Tamisier, Portuguese artist Alexandre Farto, widely known as Vhils, brings his urban art sensibilities to life. Vhils' work, titled "Strates Urbaines" (Urban Layers), is a monumental piece crafted from traditional Portuguese ceramic tiles known as azulejos.
This masterpiece spans between levels -1 and -2 of the station, covering an impressive :
- 35 meters in length and 7 meters in height
- with approximately 11,132 azulejos.

In "Strates Urbaines," Vhils explores the reciprocal shaping process between the city and its people. Faces emerge and blend into the urban fabric, highlighting the diverse population and myriad territories within the city. Each face contributes to the formation of the city's identity and character, reflecting the dynamic and symbiotic relationship between Paris and its residents.
