Exhibition by Charles PEtillon

A Charles Petillon exhibition at the Collegiale art center in Orléans

"Confluences" explores the work of Charles Pétillon and its evolutions over the past ten years.

Charles Petllon is a French artist known for his work of photographs as for his large-scale installations in public space. Pétillon unveils for the first time the undersides of his artistic approach and shares with the public of the Collegiale Saint-Pierre-le-Puellier the genesis of his creation of the preparatory drawing for the installation in situ.

Charles Pétillon was first of all a photographer. Curious about everything and in constant search for novelty (as much as fun!), He created his first balloon installations - in latex and biodegradable - in 2011. Shape games, ephemeral creations, imaginary cabins, the balloons are white, unchangingly ; white as a rigor that the artist imposes on himself, white above all as a light which sheds light on the subject of these photographs.

Each time, the artist designs a specific form, he stages his white balloons and makes them interact with their environment.

These photographs invite sometimes to play, sometimes to meditation, one thing is certain, something magical!

The Confluences exhibition presents ten prints on the banks of the Loire and a series of photographs inside the Collegiate Church of Saint-Pierre-le-Puellier, also invested in an in situ installation.
