Danysz Gallery is pleased to announce an exhibition dedicated to Liu Bolin, the internationally renowned Chinese artist, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the legendary Hiding in the City series. This series, which established Liu Bolin as one of the key figures of the contemporary art scene, is celebrated through a selection of emblematic works, recent creations, and new pieces.
This exhibition brings together the themes that are close to him: Chinese tradition, consumer society, the media, and freedom of the press. He even created a new exceptional work in Paris: Hiding in Magazines, resulting from a performance with invited collectors, where the artist continues to explore the relationship between image, media communication, and invisibility. The project, kept secret during its creation, is revealed in the exhibition, where visitors can discover the painted costumes, the magazine set, and even a behind-the-scenes video. Liu Bolin unveils the mysterious side of performance art.
