Dissolution (Blue, Yellow, Green, Red)

This special performance continues the lineage of interventions by ZEVS, an artist known for his iconic, often furtive performances in public space. Here, his gesture of “liquidation” unfolds directly onto the walls of the Centre Pompidou, as if the building’s emblematic colours — blue, yellow, green and red — were melting and slipping downward.
Beyond painting, the work is the result of a live act, a performative moment that extends over time. Although the Centre Pompidou has now closed its doors for renovation, Dissolution remains visible, a persistent trace of the artist’s intervention and a reminder of the institution’s enduring energy.
What might have been a fleeting gesture becomes a lasting marker, a witness to the museum’s ongoing history.
By transforming the walls into an unstable, flowing surface, the work reflects on impermanence and transformation. The architecture seems to liquefy, undergoing its own change of state. Colour becomes matter, matter becomes flow, and the museum itself appears to be entering a continuous cycle of metamorphosis.
