A used Parisian metro door serves as the support
for a portrait engraved in the chiaroscuro emblematic of Vhils. The window of
the door reveals an eye that is at once piercing and melancholic, seeming to
gaze out from within the carriage. The artist's technique creates a relief
effect that brings the features of the face into focus. The surrounding areas
are characterised by a raw texture suggesting the passage of time and the wear
of urban life. The presence of an authentic « Attention ! » sticker, warning
passengers of closing doors, anchors the piece in its original context. The
