For "Alice Neel: Beautifully Imperfect", Serralves Museum in Porto devotes a retrospective to the great American portraitist (1900-1984), whose work remained largely overlooked until she was in her sixties. The exhibition brings together 90 works exploring identity, intimacy and social struggle, alongside archival material and previously unseen letters written to Alice Neel by contemporary Portuguese and international artists, writers and musicians. Vhils is among the voices invited to honour the artist's memory in this way, alongside names such as Jordan Casteel, Chantal Joffe and Celia Paul.
Practical information: 16 July 2026 to 17 January 2027. Serralves Museum of Contemporary Art, Porto, Portugal.
