Group Show: Chinese New Year

28 January - 27 February 2017 Shanghai

Chinese New Year is a range of talents from the Chinese art scene, all supported and represented by Magda Danysz. The exhibition shows emerging photographers such as Huang Xiaoliang, Bai Guanghua or Feng Fangyu.  Most of these artists are often inspired by the classical aesthetic tradition and they make references to the great historical Chinese culture by creating delicate and dreamlike works full of lightness.

Alongside, Magda Danysz presents internationally recognized talents such as Zhang Dali or Maleonn, exhibited in the gallery since 2009.

This exhibition is an opportunity to immerse ourselves in the projects produced by Magda Danysz during her Chinese experience. Others pieces are also highlighted, including the Eternal Smile by Wang Keping, iconic steel sculpture that reveals the humor of the flagship artist of the group of the Stars (Xing Xing) and contrasts with the delicate curves of his bronze sculptures with female profiles.

Finally, Magda Danysz invited many Western artists to discover China as well: she asked the French artist ?L'Atlas?, who came several times in residence, to realize a work in situ in tribute to this Chinese New Year.

By the bridge created with China since 2009, Magda Danysz gallery offers us the opportunity to discover young Chinese artists, but also confirmed and famous artists. She gives an enthusiastic insight into the richness, originality and vitality of contemporary Chinese production.
