Mark Jenkins at the OpenArt Biennale

Örebro, Sweeden

For its tenth edition, the OpenArt Biennale in Örebro invites Mark Jenkins to take over Swedish public space with new sculptures. The American artist, known for his hyperrealistic human figures made of resin and packing tape, previously made headlines when one of his white figures was stolen during an earlier edition, sparking widespread attention. This year, organisers hope to avoid a repeat while preserving the sense of surprise that defines Jenkins's work, which blurs the line between the living and the inert in the familiar setting of the street. The biennial, Scandinavia's largest outdoor contemporary art event, brings together 35 artists from 14 countries across more than 40 sites in the city centre, all free and accessible day and night.

Practical information: 13 June to 6 September 2026. Örebro city centre, Sweden. Free admission, outdoors, accessible day and night.
