Founded in 1978, the Cerveira International Art Biennial is the oldest contemporary art event in Portugal and the Iberian Peninsula. Its 24th edition, under the artistic direction of Mafalda Santos and themed "Borderless Territories", pays tribute to Silvestre Pestana, a pioneering figure in Portuguese digital art who has taken part in every edition since 1978. Vhils is taking part through the group exhibition "¿De qué casa eres?", built around the work of Ana Pérez-Quiroga and bringing together 46 artists from 16 countries, including João Penalva, André Sousa and Susanne Themlitz. The 2026 edition was officially opened on 18 July by Portugal's President, António José Seguro.
