As every summer since 2022, French-Swiss artist Saype returns to the Villars-sur-Ollon resort for the fifth season of his land art cycle in the Vaud Alps. Arriving on site on 8 July, he created two monumental frescoes directly on the grass, using his biodegradable paint made mainly of chalk and charcoal: the first, in the Aiguille sector, visible from Roc d'Orsay, followed by a second near the golf green, visible in particular from the restaurant terrace, completed on 20 July. Each work grows out of reflection on the site's history, topography and biodiversity, and plays with perspective for an optimal reveal from above. True to his approach, this year the artist invites the public to watch him at work, before the frescoes fade away naturally over time.
Practical information: Created 6 to 20 July 2026, on view until 9 August 2026. Roc d'Orsay / l'Aiguille sector and Villars Golf Course (hole no. 5), Villars-sur-Ollon, Switzerland. Access by Roc d'Orsay cable car or by train to Bretaye.
